Hi, I’m Shayla

As a passionate and results-driven Visual Artist, Graphic Designer, and Art/Creative Director, I excel in transforming visionary concepts into award-winning designs that captivate audiences and elevate brand success. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and over 16 years of experience across diverse industries—aerospace, luxury retail, sports, technology, hospitality, and nonprofit—I bring a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to every project.

In 2011, I founded my art and design studio, ConceptShell. As a freelancer, I’ve worked with local and small businesses to help people build and beautify their brands. As a queer, Asian woman who’s part of the LGBTQ+ community, it’s important to me to inspire, motivate others, and elevate voices, especially youth, through art and design. In 2024, ConceptShell became an LLC and has continued to maintain and build successful relationships with clients such as the City of Seattle, BLK Mamas Collective, Laro Tayo ("Let’s Play”) family social corner, WNBA Seattle Storm and NHL Seattle Kraken.

Outside of ConceptShell, I was a Creative Lead (Senior Art Director/Design Manager/Designer) for the Cognizant global in-house creative team for 3 years and previously a Senior Designer/Art Director with Boeing for 6 years. I’ve served for 2 years as a Co-Chair for the Seattle Chapter of SEGD (Society of Experiential Graphic Design) and was 1 of 8 members on the advisory board of the first-ever Racial Justice Commission. I’m passionate about helping clients solve complex problems. My works can be seen nationally, from Washington and California to Hawaii and New York, and globally, including in Africa, Canada, China, India, and Mexico.
